Electrical Inspections in Atlanta

Electrical Inspections by Licensed Electricians, With No Added Evening or Weekend Fees

We inspect wiring, outlets, breakers, grounding, and the electrical panel for visible hazards, deterioration, and code compliance concerns. Homeowners often request an inspection before buying a house, planning a major renovation, installing a large appliance, or evaluating a property more than 40 years old.

Since 2002, we’ve served Atlanta homeowners with electrical, heating, cooling, and plumbing services from one provider. We don’t charge extra for evening or weekend service, making it easier to schedule a safety check around weekday commitments.

Trained Technicians & Straightforward Service Options

Electrical safety requires careful work from a qualified professional. Our technicians are carefully screened, highly trained, and continually educated on industry advancements and emerging technologies.

After the inspection, we explain our findings and discuss relevant service options. An inspection can identify concerns and recommended repairs, but it can’t promise that a property will pass a municipal, insurance, or real estate inspection. If replacement work is recommended, we provide free estimates and consultations, transparent pricing, financing options, and low monthly payment plans.

Additional customer benefits include:

  • No Added Evening or Weekend Fees: The service rate doesn’t increase because an appointment occurs during these periods.
  • Home Comfort Club Benefits: Members receive 24/7 priority service, discounts, and preventive maintenance, including annual inspections.
  • Available Discounts: Specials are offered for seniors, veterans, and first responders.
  • Whole-Home Service: We provide electrical, heating, cooling, plumbing, and indoor air quality solutions.

What We Check During a Home Electrical Inspection in Atlanta

The scope of an inspection depends on the property’s age, system design, and reason for the service. We examine accessible components for visible hazards, deterioration, and conditions that may require repairs or further evaluation.

Common inspection points include:

  • Electrical Panel: We check for corrosion, overheating, loose connections, improper breaker sizing, and equipment associated with known safety concerns, including certain Federal Pacific and Zinsco panels.
  • Wiring: We evaluate visible wiring for damage and outdated materials, such as knob-and-tube wiring or ungrounded two-wire systems sometimes found in homes built before 1960.
  • Outlets & Switches: We look for damage, discoloration, heat, loose installation, and grounding concerns.
  • GFCI Protection: We test applicable ground-fault circuit interrupters, which shut off power when current follows an unintended path.
  • AFCI Protection: We review arc-fault circuit interrupters for appropriate placement and function. These devices detect dangerous electrical arcing.
  • Safety Equipment: We may also evaluate smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, surge protection, grounding components, and bonding connections.

How Georgia Electrical Codes Affect Your Inspection

Georgia uses the National Electrical Code with state-specific amendments. Requirements vary based on the work performed and the code edition in effect when permits are issued. GFCI protection commonly applies in bathrooms, kitchens, garages, laundry rooms, outdoor areas, and locations within six feet of a water source.

Amendments effective January 1, 2026, affect certain new installations and upgrades. These changes include outdoor emergency disconnect requirements for new homes or panel upgrades, as well as expanded GFCI protection for equipment such as hardwired dishwashers and sump pumps.

Our inspection can identify conditions that warrant repairs or further evaluation, but it isn’t a municipal code inspection. We’ll explain the concerns we find and how current requirements may apply to planned electrical work.

Signs Your Home May Need an Electrical Inspection

Changes in electrical performance can point to loose connections, overloaded circuits, damaged wiring, or aging equipment. Arrange an inspection if you notice:

  • Lights that flicker or dim without an obvious cause.
  • Breakers that trip repeatedly.
  • Outlets or switches that feel warm or appear discolored.
  • Buzzing, crackling, or burning odors near electrical components.
  • Wiring exposed to storm, plumbing, or other water damage.
  • Two-prong outlets or other signs of an older ungrounded system.

Buyers also commonly request this service during due diligence, even though Georgia doesn’t generally require a separate electrical safety check for every home sale. The findings can clarify the condition of major components before purchase decisions, home insurance discussions, or planned renovations.
